Watch the video with our incredible team sharing insights on Cinobo’s case study

About the client

Cinobo is the new Greek streaming platform specializing in independent and arthouse cinema. A platform is created to bridge the gap between quantity and quality in the streaming space, giving access to the largest curated catalog of independent cinema. It brings together content from all over the world and Greece, which is often scattered or hard to find, in a place to explore for all those who love or want to discover the 7th art.

Cinobo brings the big screen to all devices and lets users enjoy movies on computers, smart TV, smartphones, tablets, and even offline.

The challenge

Cinobo’s mission is to deliver Cinema without borders. They build a community around arthouse cinema. Building trust, in the beginning was an important step in our project’s success. We did everything remotely, and our team directly integrated with Cinobo’s design and creator teams. The deadline was short and budget fixed, so having transparent communication and totally aligned view on how we see the future of Cinobo’s streaming platform was paramount.

Our solution

We developed a new customized front-end for Cinobo’s streaming platform in just 3 months. The new streaming library contains over 1200 movies, including 160 Cinobo’s distributions serving over 20,000 subscribers a month.

By using Strapi CMS and Next JS React, we have created a single landing site with the film database, easy filtering, and reach the content library, gathering everything from blog articles to film reviews. This is a one-stop shop for their subscribers and also for Cinobo itself. They can use our solution to create campaign pages and plan for video distribution and premiere announcements. Everything was made easy and with a single sign-on.

Our vision at Cinobo has been to make accessible to the general public of Greece and Cyprus the films that touch us at festivals, are loved by the audience, and yet do not easily reach the eyes of the viewer. Films that never came to Greece or even films that came but were given a very small opportunity to be promoted by the standards in the domestic film market. So we want to bring to life the movies that disappeared from theaters early and are probably not even available via BLU RAY or DVD. Together with the Sigma Technology team, we have created a modern, fresh, and engaging subscription platform that will help us spread the word about all these films that their audience had so hard time finding.
