Congratulations on a great achievement!”

Sigma Technology Group has partnered with Munich-based tech pioneer sqanit to launch a streamlined solution for Digital Product Passports (DPPs) aimed at manufacturers across Sweden and the EU. This collaboration will help companies meet new regulatory demands under the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan, promoting transparency, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.

The European Union’s Circular Economy Action Plan and the upcoming European Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) will soon demand the implementation of digital product passports (DPPs) to enable a sustainable and traceable lifecycle for physical products. These regulations will impact manufacturers across industries selling their products in the EU, highlighting the need for trusted technology solutions. By supporting education, health, and personal development, Sigma is helping to shape a brighter future for young South Africans.

Star for Life is a social empowerment program for youth in South Africa that promotes students’ self-esteem and health by providing tools to help them make wise life decisions. Star for Life’s coaches are on hand to work with the learner’s self-esteem, integrity, dreams, and goals. Through workshops, exercises, and music, children and young people learn about everything from puberty, consent, sexual and reproductive health, relationships, and hygiene to study discipline, empowerment, respect for others, creative expression, and entrepreneurship.

Sigma Technology Group has been a proud supporter of three schools in South Africa: Mmemezi Secondary, Nompondo Primary, and Nibela Primary. Through this partnership with the Star for Life Foundation, the company is dedicated to fostering education and growing role models for students in underserved communities.

Sigma Technology’s Star for Life Ambassadors recently returned from a trip to South Africa, where they strengthened ties with local communities. Besides, the trip allowed new ambassadors to witness the impact of the mission, visit schools, engage with students, and set new plans. The group of five ambassadors — Hanna Ingesson, Levente Erős, Simon Thörnblad, Rita Helli, and Galina Pesheva— will continue supporting the Star for Life mission.

Looking Ahead: Strengthening Our Commitment

During the next two years, Sigma Technology’s focus will include two major projects: creating a library at Mmemezi Secondary School and involving more schools in the computer curriculum that we started at Nompondo Primary School two years ago. By providing access to books and enhancing computer skills, we aim to open new educational doors for these young learners, many of whom do not have regular access to the internet or other learning resources.

Reflections of Senior Ambassadors: Hanna Ingesson and Levente Erős

The trip was filled with memorable moments for both senior and new ambassadors, further strengthening their commitment. Hanna Ingesson highlighted joining a classroom session at the Girls Club in Mmemezi High School. “The Girls Club teaches about women’s rights and entrepreneurship. It was inspiring to see young girls learning how to support themselves and not be dependent on others.”

She also expressed excitement over witnessing the talents of young learners. “At Nibela, a boy had built a working car out of scrap with functional lights! It was incredible to see how much potential these kids have with just a little support.”

Levente Erős emphasized the team’s growing connection with local partners: “This year’s visit was focused on deepening the quality and intensity of our partnership with Star for Life, with the schools we support, and with Heroes of Tomorrow, a group of university students we support in their mission of inspiring high school learners. It was also a great chance to observe what has changed, to reassess needs, and to gather input for future projects so that they provide relevant help to our partners.”

Over the next two years, Sigma Technology’s Star for Life ambassadors will focus on delivering impactful, well-targeted projects. With a newly created library and enhanced digital literacy, the focus continues to be on empowering students to dream big and achieve more.

Star for Life Commends Sigma for Ongoing Support in Youth Empowerment

Star for Life is proud to recognize the invaluable contribution of Sigma, a key partner in our mission to empower youth through education, health awareness, and personal development. Sigma’s ongoing support has enabled Star for Life to reach thousands of young individuals, equipping them with the skills and confidence to shape brighter futures.

Precious Dlamini, Executive Director of Star for Life, comments: “Sigma’s dedication to youth empowerment perfectly aligns with our mission to inspire and uplift young people so they can fulfill their dreams! Their support has not only strengthened our ability to deliver impactful programs but has also deepened the bond between our organizations as we work together to create opportunities for future leaders.”

Sigma Technology Digital Solutions has been a development partner to the Cultural Administration of Region Västra Götaland, assisting in the redesign and further development of the web platform Barnens Bibliotek (Eng. Children’s Library), which aims to promote reading and writing among children. The website was relaunched this past spring and has received very positive feedback from both adults and the primary target group – children, who were involved in the process and helped evaluate test versions.

Barnens Bibliotek is an initiative that promotes reading, writing, and literature promotion for children and young people between 8-12 years of age. The website is run by the Cultural Administration of Region Västra Götaland but has users across Sweden.

The purpose of the website is to spark interest and creativity in reading, literature, and writing, as well as to serve as a knowledge base for finding information about books and authors. Children, the platform’s primary target group, can use the website both during school hours and in their free time, finding it relevant and helpful. Barnens Bibliotek also offers tips and inspiration, along with printable materials such as book posters, quizzes, and writing exercises, for librarians, school staff, and parents.

Sigma Technology Digital Solutions has extensive experience in assisting public organizations with digital accessibility evaluation and adaptation, design, and development. As the development partner for this project, Sigma Technology Digital Solutions was responsible for design, web development, SEO review and optimization, as well as implementation. The team also ensured that the web platform complies with WCAG and EU digital accessibility laws, providing an excellent user experience for the primary target audience.

“With digitalization comes the responsibility to ensure that all users, regardless of background, education level, age, or disabilities, can use digital services. At Sigma Technology Digital Solutions, we offer a holistic digital strategy that contributes to more accessible and inclusive digital platforms. Region Västra Götaland has an important mission: to inspire future generations to read and gain new knowledge by developing the best site for reading and writing, and we are proud to contribute to this,” says Anna Lantz, President at Sigma Technology Digital Solutions.

“Through our close collaboration with VGR, we were able to identify areas for improvement in design, SEO, and accessibility, delivering a web platform that not only provides an outstanding experience but is also easy to manage and maintain, helping Region Västra Götaland achieve increased operational efficiency,” adds Lotta Berlin, Vice President at Sigma Technology Digital Solutions. The web platform was officially presented at the Bokmässan, Scandinavian’s Largest Cultural event, in Gothenburg.
