WiTech, Kronoberg’s first women’s tech network, has appointed Amelie Olsen, Unit Manager at Sigma Technology Informatics Solutions, as its new Chairwoman. At the same time, Sigma Technology renews its commitment as main sponsor — further strengthening its focus on gender equality and inclusion in the tech industry.

With over 250 members from 30 companies across Kronoberg and Kalmar, WiTech has grown into a strong meeting place for women in IT and technology. Founded in 2017 in Växjö, the network’s goal is to inspire more girls and women to pursue a career in tech and to build bridges between students, academia, and industry.

Diversity, equality, and inclusion are essential to a workplace where everyone feels safe and motivated. I want to drive WiTech forward by creating more opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing, and by showing that a gender-equal tech industry is a stronger tech industry,” says Amelie Olsen.

New initiative: WiTech takes over “IT Woman of the Year”

Starting in 2025, WiTech—together with Linnaeus University—will be responsible for the “IT Woman of the Year” award in the Linnaeus region. The prize is awarded to a woman who actively works for inclusion and diversity and who inspires more people to choose a career in IT.

Highlighting female role models is crucial to attracting the next generation of talent to the industry. ‘IT Woman of the Year’ is our major initiative to increase gender equality in the region,” says Amelie Olsen.

Sigma Technology continues support as main sponsor

Sigma Technology Informatics Solutions has long supported WiTech through mentorship programs, youth initiatives, and networking events. With the renewed sponsorship, the company strengthens its position as one of Sweden’s leading actors in advancing gender equality in the tech sector.

We are proud to stand behind WiTech and its important work. Continuing our sponsorship is a natural step for us. It is important to be strategic in our partnerships, and WiTech’s efforts go hand in hand with our own initiatives such as Femmegineering. Together, we can accelerate the development of a more equal and sustainable industry,” says Daniel Björkman, President at Sigma Technology Informatics Solutions.

Sigma Technology Solutions Group has signed Växjö Declaration, Växjö municipality’s cross-sector pledge tied to the “Sustainable Växjö 2030” program, joining 80+ local actors accelerating the region’s climate-neutral and inclusive growth agenda.

Being among “Europe’s greenest cities,” Växjö aims to be fossil-fuel free and climate-neutral by 2030, backed by a Climate City Contract and decades of concrete action in renewable energy, efficient district heating, and sustainable urban development. With more than 99% renewable heat since 2020, Växjö combines climate action with steady growth — a strong platform for companies to scale sustainable solutions in collaboration with regional partners, Linnaeus University, and the industry.

Sigma Technology Solutions Group has signed Växjödeklarationen, Växjö municipality’s cross-sector sustainability pledge connected to Sustainable Växjö 2030.

Växjö shows what real, local climate leadership looks like – collaboration, measurable progress, and a practical roadmap to 2030. By signing Växjödeklarationen, we are committing our people and our know-how to help customers and partners decarbonize operations, build resilient supply chains, and create inclusive growth in Kronoberg,” says Niklas Malmros, CEO, Sigma Technology Solutions Group.

He continues: “It gives us a clear framework, a network of peers, and a city that’s already delivering on climate goals. That combination helps our teams prototype with customers faster, prove impact in Växjö, and then scale what works across Sweden and the Nordics.

Sigma Technology has been operating in Växjö since 2002 and is an active player supporting the region’s municipal, educational, and societal initiatives promoting Växjö’s and Kronoberg’s competitiveness by partnering with Växjö commun, Linnaeus university, and Företagsfabriken.

About Växjö’s sustainability trajectory

The municipality’s sustainability program, Hållbara Växjö 2030,sets five goal areas and tracks progress through over 50 indicators published annually. Växjö’s green transition is underpinned by long-standing investments in renewables (including bio-based district heating) and a formal Climate City Contract to reach climate neutrality by 2030.

Växjö hosts two public signing events each year (Earth Week in the spring and the MAT week in September) and now counts over 80 signatories, providing companies with a concrete framework and an active network of peers to accelerate implementation.

Sigma Technology will participate in Möbelriksdagen 2025, Sweden’s annual forum for the furniture and interior design industry. This year, the event, held in the historic furniture hub of Tranås, brings together business leaders, innovators, policymakers, and experts to explore how the sector can combine design with sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation to strengthen competitiveness and drive long-term growth.

This year’s program covers a wide range of topics – from sustainability and new competencies to the role of craftsmanship in an era shaped by digitalization and AI. As Blekinge’s manufacturing and defense sectors scale, demand for accurate product information and Digital Product Passports (DPP) solutions grows rapidly. Sigma Technology Information responds by appointing Simon Andersson to lead its further expansion in Karlskrona and Karlshamn.

Blekinge continues to evolve as one of Sweden’s most dynamic industrial and innovation regions. Strong clusters in manufacturing, defense, IT & telecom, marine technology, and green industry are supported by Region Blekinge’s ongoing Kickstart 2 initiative (2023–2026), which positions the county as a demo region and testbed for mission-oriented innovation and the green transition.

For Sigma Technology Information, this means a unique opportunity to strengthen its position as a partner in product information and Digital Product Passports solutions at a time when companies across these sectors face increasing demands for complex documentation, compliance, and digital product data management.

“Product information expertise is needed more than ever. Clients face rising demands for seamless data integration, localization, and compliance as supply chains grow increasingly complex. With the upcoming EU Digital Product Passports, the role of structured and reliable product information will be absolutely critical. Strengthening our presence in Blekinge ensures we can support both regional and global companies,” says Johan Thornadtsson, President of Sigma Technology Information. “Establishing Simon in Blekinge brings both proven leadership and local insight to meet that demand and deliver exceptional client value.”

Simon Andersson, a Karlskrona-based leader with long experience in the region’s manufacturing sector and a proven track record. He steps into his new role with a clear focus: to strengthen Sigma Technology Information’s presence and support local industries with product information services.

His appointment reinforces Sigma Technology Information’s ambition to make Blekinge a strong hub for product information in southern Sweden. The company operates in 11 cities across Sweden and has nearly 30 years of experience in product information and technical communication, supporting clients with services that span complex documentation, compliance, and digital product data management.

Over the first 90 days in Karlskrona and Karlshamn, my priority is to deepen and reestablish strong customer relationships. We need to show our clients we’re a stable, reliable partner by offering top-tier expertise in exactly the areas they need and, equally important, maintaining our values and culture in how we deliver,” Simon explains.

Together with Patrik Stjerna, recently appointed Unit Manager at Sigma Technology Software Solutions, Simon will drive Sigma’s further expansion in Blekinge.

Sigma Technology Software Solutions welcomes Patrik Stjerna as the new Unit Manager in Karlskrona. With over two decades of leadership in IT and a deep local network, Patrik will spearhead Sigma’s expansion in Blekinge, aiming to make the company the region’s largest consulting partner.

Sigma Technology is strengthening operations in Karlskrona as Blekinge consolidates its position as a tech-consulting hub. The region concentrates talent in software, cybersecurity, telecom, and defense, anchored by Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), which supplies a steady pipeline from more than 7,000 students. With a supportive business climate and direct connections to Poland, Germany, and Denmark, Karlskrona gives us a strategic base for national and international growth.

Blekinge has the mix we need to grow: ambitious customers, skilled engineers, and a business climate that gets things done. We already support many customers in southern Sweden and see the demand increasing with several customers and sectors. We welcome Patrik Stjerna, whose track record in these areas will help us scale delivery from Karlskrona and Karlshamn and build the region’s strongest consulting team,” says Toni Risteski, President at Sigma Technology Software Solutions.

Patrik Stjerna, a Karlskrona-based leader with more than 20 years in senior roles across IT, hosting, telecom, manufacturing, and electronics, joins with a clear brief: build the region’s strongest consulting team and help customers innovate and reach the right talents faster.

My first months in Karlskrona are all about building a strong regional foundation. The region of Blekinge is growing in a fast pace, and my ambition is to support the regional growth with top-tier technology talents to support the increasing demand of software development, innovation, cybersecurity and AI. The aim is clear: create and provide a high-performing, connected team that grows with our customers and secures Sigma’s brand as Blekinge’s leading consulting hub,” says Patrik Stjerna, Unit manager at Sigma Technology Software Solutions.

The units in Karlskrona and Karlshamn will serve as both a high-capacity delivery center for both existing and new clients. By combining senior expertise with a strong talent pipeline from BTH, Sigma aims to grow its consultant base, deliver faster and more specialized solutions, and contribute to making Blekinge one of the Nordic region’s recognized hubs for innovation and technology leadership.

Sigma Technology IT Group has become one of the selected consulting companies that have entered into a new framework agreement with the National Procurement Services within the central government agency Kammarkollegiet. The agreement enters into force in August 2025 and runs for four years.

Kammarkollegiet (the Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency) acts as an investment manager, purchaser, insurer and legal agency for the central government. The National Procurement Services department at Kammarkollegiet is responsible for procurement activities in Sweden, which includes authorities, regions, municipalities and other public actors, to streamline procurement for frequently purchased goods and services.

The procurement of IT consulting services for Operational IT needs includes services in business development, requirements, usability, and accessibility. Kammarkollegiet pays special attention to how suppliers work with sustainability, accessibility, information security, e-commerce, and supply security. After a rigorous tender process, Sigma Technology IT Group was selected as one of the nine approved suppliers.

“Kammarkollegiet prioritizes suppliers who consider environmental and social responsibility, aligning with the government’s procurement strategy, Agenda 2030, and the national environmental goals. This makes us especially proud to be one of the chosen suppliers. With our solid expertise in digitalization and digital inclusion, we look forward to contributing to Sweden’s digital development,” says Anna Nyblin, Bid Manager at Sigma Technology IT Group.

The framework agreement with Kammarkollegiet further strengthens Sigma Technology’s commitment to becoming Sweden’s leading IT provider for the public sector. Earlier this year, Sigma Technology signed agreements with Region Jönköpings Län, CSN, the Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, and the Norwegian Veterinary Institute.

“Our strategic focus within the public sector is to build long-term relationships with our clients to drive digitalization projects. With our broad delivery capacity and capability, we can assist public sector organizations in ensuring the quality of their digital and sustainable initiatives. Winning the framework agreement with Kammarkollegiet is an important milestone for us,” says Johan Edlund, CEO of Sigma Technology IT Group.
