Report from the Agile Technical Documentation Seminar in Linköping

Recently, Sigma Technology in Linköping held a successful and well-attended breakfast seminar about combining agile development with efficient production of technical information.

Attendees learnt about the most efficient ways of producing technical information in an agile product development environment, and the associated pitfalls. The seminar was held by Stephan Quist, who has many years of experience from the technical information industry and agile development.

This subject is clearly very interesting to our customers, as many people attended; so many in fact that we had to move to a larger seminar room.

An interesting debate during the seminar was concerning agile teams writing as well, versus having dedicated writers involved in the teams. Many companies let their product development teams write the technical information as well, to be more agile and to share all tasks within the group. Stephan argued against this principle, instead recommending having dedicated writing resources serving several agile teams.

After the talk a question session was held, and a lot of questions were asked. Agile working methods really are a hot topic among our customers and all the other attendees.

We would like to thank Stephan for sharing his expertise, and to all those that attended for making the seminar such a success.

During the autumn, Sigma Technology will continue the seminar series and have more great topics to share. Keep your eyes peeled!
