Sigma Technology signs multi-year Information Logistics contract in Shanghai China, with a world-leading telecom company

Through its subsidiary, Sigma Technology, Sigma (listed on the OMX Stockholm Stock Exchange) has signed a contract with a world-leading telecom company in Shanghai, China. Under this contract, Sigma Technology will initially deliver services within the area of Information Logistics covering Packet Core and IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem). The multi-year contract was won under the merits of good quality and the ability to improve customer efficiency.

Niklas Börjesson, Executive Director, Operations and Customer Strategy for Sigma Technology says: ”The contract is yet another proof of customers appreciating the effort we have made in China. We are far ahead of the roadmap that was once set up for China.”

Sigma Technology is convinced that this assignment will generate more work in the future and therefore a new office has been set up in Shanghai. The office hosts 4 employees today but is expected to grow rapidly. In 2008, the company calculates that about 20 employees will be located at the Shanghai office. Sigma Technology China will increase the number of employees by 30 within the same period of time.

Sigma Technology is currently doing business with several customers in Shanghai who are operating within telecom and new customers are knocking on our door.

“The start of the Shanghai operation is an important step for the Sigma Technology China branch. Shanghai is the centre point of R&D in China for multinational and Chinese technology companies and the market is very large. We have many interesting prospects within our main focus areas, telecom and automotive.”, says Fredrik Wenneberg, President Sigma Technology China.
