Sigma Technology IT Infra has been awarded a framework agreement with the Swedish Agency for Digital Government (Digg) for IT consulting services. The agreement spans four years and has a total value of SEK 650 million.

Digg is responsible for Sweden’s digital infrastructure and supports the digitalization of the public sector. As part of the government’s digitalization strategy, Digg will merge with the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) on January 1, 2027, forming the new Swedish Digitalization Agency. To meet the increasing demands for the development and management of digital services and infrastructure, the agency requires access to specialized expertise across several areas of IT.

Through the agreement, Sigma Technology IT Infra will provide expertise in areas such as software development, digital architecture, and information security for critical public services.

“Through our work with public sector organizations and defense-related operations, we have built strong expertise in quality-assured and security-critical deliveries. We also bring these experiences to our collaboration with Digg. Through this agreement, we have the opportunity to contribute to the development of digital infrastructure that is essential to Sweden’s continued digital transformation,” says Richard Gustafsson, President at Sigma Technology IT Infra.

“The demand for specialist expertise in digitalization continues to grow across the public sector. Over the past few years, we have established a strong position in this area and signed 60 agreements with public sector organizations. The framework agreement with Digg is further proof of the trust placed in our capabilities,” says Johan Edlund, President at Sigma Technology IT Group.

Sigma Technology Hungary is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Since its founding as Kudos Hungary in 2001, the company has grown from a small local operation into a well-established part of Sigma Technology Group, serving customers across multiple countries and industries.

The anniversary was celebrated on earlier this summer in Budapest, bringing together colleagues, customers, partners, and friends from Hungary and Sweden. The evening was attended by Diana Madunic, Ambassador of Sweden to Hungary, Dan Olofsson, Founder and Owner of Sigma Group, and Carl Vikingsson, CEO of Sigma Technology Group.

Founded in 2001 and part of Sigma Group since 2007, Sigma Technology Hungary has grown into a Budapest-based organization of more than 200 professionals, with expertise across software development, testing, product information, technical writing, graphic design, and usability.

During these 25 years, the company has expanded well beyond its original role, today serving customers in Hungary, Sweden, and international markets. While Product Information and Software Solutions remain important parts of the business, Sigma Technology Hungary is increasingly building its organization around technologies and industries, with growing expertise in areas ranging from artificial intelligence and cloud technologies to space-related solutions.

The event was also an opportunity to reflect on the Swedish roots and company culture that have shaped Sigma Technology Hungary over the past 25 years. Beyond its commercial activities, Sigma Technology Hungary works closely with organizations such as the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hungary (SCCH), SKOOL, WeAreOpen, and Bridge Budapest, and maintains strong ties with leading Hungarian universities. Earlier this year, György Nagy was elected President of SCCH, further strengthening the company’s connection to the Swedish-Hungarian business community.

“Sigma Technology Hungary is a great example of what happens when strong local talent, customer focus, and Swedish business values come together. The team has grown into an important part of our group, and I am proud of what they have achieved over these 25 years,” says Carl Vikingsson, CEO of Sigma Technology Group.

Over the past 25 years, Sigma Technology Hungary has grown together with many of its customers, building long-term partnerships with organizations such as Ericsson, Knorr-Bremse, and Grundfos. Together with close cooperation across Sigma Technology Group, these relationships have helped the company broaden its expertise and enter new areas of business over time.

“Our 25-year story is not simply about becoming bigger. It is about becoming better. From our early Kudos days to today’s 200-strong organization, we have grown because people cared: about quality, about their colleagues, and about creating real value. I am grateful to our employees, customers, and partners who have been part of that journey,” says György Nagy, Country Manager of Sigma Technology Hungary and Executive Vice President of Sigma Technology Group.

Celebrating 25 years is not only about looking back at what has been achieved, but also about looking ahead. The technologies, customers, and markets may change, but Sigma Technology Hungary remains guided by the same principles that have shaped the company from the start: curiosity, responsibility, collaboration, and a commitment to creating real value for customers.

Sigma Technology Embedded Group is launching Sigma Technology Embedded Talent, a new initiative designed to help companies strengthen future capabilities in electrification, intelligent industry, and digital solutions. At the same time, the program aims to create more opportunities for junior engineers to develop in technically advanced environments, supported by senior specialists, established development processes, and R&D facilities.

The demand for engineers within embedded systems, software development, and related technology fields remains high. At the same time, increasing project complexity and demanding delivery requirements often lead companies to prioritize recruiting experienced specialists. As a result, fewer junior engineers have the opportunity to gain practical experience that the industry will depend on in the years ahead.

Meanwhile, AI and automation are transforming job roles and competency requirements, increasing the need for structured talent development. Sigma Technology Embedded Talent addresses this challenge by combining junior engineers with senior specialists, proven development methodologies, and Sigma Technology’s R&D environments. This enables customers to bring in new talent without compromising quality or delivery capability.

The initiative builds on Sigma Technology Embedded Group’s long-standing commitment to introducing young engineers to the industry through internships, thesis projects, R&D initiatives, and in-house product development. Over the past year, a significant number of students have been part of the company’s technical environments, creating a proven model for developing junior talent in close collaboration with experienced specialists.

“Just this spring, we had more than 20 students participating in our in-house projects through internships and thesis work. Embedded Talent is therefore a natural next step for us. We have the right conditions to provide young engineers with the support, learning environment, and opportunities they need to build long-term careers in technology,” says Sanna Hövling, People & Talent Manager for Sigma Technology Embedded Talent.

Sigma Technology Embedded Talent is built around a modular approach, allowing customers to choose the model that best matches their needs and goals – from placing junior engineers in customer assignments with senior support to integrated teams and tailored competence development programs.

“This is not only a talent initiative; it is a way to develop the engineers of tomorrow together with our customers. We are creating a model where learning, innovation, and business value go hand in hand,” says Mikael Karlsson, President of Sigma Technology Embedded Group.

Cloud has become the digital infrastructure behind many of today’s most business-critical initiatives in AI, automation, cybersecurity, and data-driven decision-making. As both the public and private sectors accelerate their digital transformation efforts, the need for expertise in modern cloud platforms, security, and cloud operations continues to grow. This trend is also reflected at the national level, with the Swedish government recently introducing the country’s first cloud policy that aims to strengthen innovation, security, and the conditions for adopting modern digital services and AI.

To meet the increasing demand for cloud-based solutions, Sigma Technology Cloud continues to invest in specialist expertise across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. The company helps businesses and public organizations of all sizes leverage modern cloud technologies and build secure, scalable IT architectures. “Cloud has become a key enabler for AI, digitalization, and future business development. We see strong demand from organizations looking to modernize their IT environments, strengthen security, and create better conditions for innovation. Malmö region is among the most dynamic markets in Sweden, and with Vivianne, we gain a leader who combines local presence, authentic leadership, and the specialist expertise our customers are looking for,” says Rashin Kabodvand, CEO of Sigma Technology Cloud.

Sigma Technology Group, a leading tech consultancy, has once again been recognized as one of Sweden’s Best Managed Companies by Deloitte and Swedbank, receiving Platinum status for the eighth consecutive year.

For Sigma Technology, recognition reflects a long-term focus on combining entrepreneurial speed with the stability and governance required in increasingly complex markets.

Carl Vikingsson, CEO and President at Sigma Technology Group, says:

“We are very proud of the recognition, but what matters more is why we keep receiving it. While being a large organization, we deliberately preserve our entrepreneurial way of working. We’ve built a structure where the people closest to the customer also have the mandate to act. Decisions that may take months elsewhere should take weeks with us, because we trust our teams to own both the problem and the solution. If we lose that edge, we lose our relevance.”

Sigma Technology’s model, “Local Drive, Global Strength”, combines specialized, decentralized companies with the backing of a larger international consulting group. The approach is designed to maintain close customer collaboration, fast decision-making, and deep specialist expertise, while still providing the scale and stability required by larger clients and complex delivery environments.

While operations remain decentralized, governance, quality assurance, and delivery commitments are coordinated at the group level when required by customer scope and complexity.

The model has become increasingly important as companies and public organizations navigate large-scale transformation initiatives within cloud, AI, electrification, and regulatory-driven digitalization.

“In today’s market, customers need both flexibility and reliability. They want partners who can adapt quickly without losing long-term capability and accountability. That balance is becoming increasingly important,” Carl Vikingsson adds.

“We are proud to present the award to these 16 companies, all of which demonstrate strong leadership, a clear strategic agenda, and well-functioning processes. Unlisted, private companies account for a large part of our workforce, our revenues, and a vibrant business community, and constitute an important building block in the Swedish economy. We are therefore especially pleased to present the award for best-managed companies to these entrepreneurs”, says Lina Thörn, partner at Deloitte and responsible for Best Managed Companies in Sweden.

Nataly Lamkén, Chief Communications Officer at Sigma Technology Group, nataly.lamken@sigmatechnology.com.

Sigma Technology Information, part of Sigma Technology IT Group, has won the Swedish Transport Agency’s procurement of consultancy services for the development and maintenance of systems within the Shipping and Aviation Departments in Norrköping. The framework agreement runs for four years with a ceiling value of SEK 90 million, and Sigma Technology is the sole supplier. The agreement means the company will provide specialist expertise to ensure stable and efficient system development within societal functions and critical infrastructure.

The Swedish Transport Agency’s IT department in Norrköping is responsible for systems central to Sweden’s shipping and aviation sectors. The operations are currently carried out in agile teams, consisting of both employees and consultants. To meet long-term needs in development and maintenance, the right competence, flexibility, and the ability to quickly scale delivery are required.

Under the agreement, Sigma Technology will initially provide approximately 5–10 consultants, with the possibility to scale up to 15 experts and, when needed, up to 25 consultants during periods of high workload. The assignment includes requirements management, UX, programming, testing, and project management.

For Sigma Technology IT Group, the agreement strengthens the company’s presence in the region and allows for building a long-term partnership with the Swedish Transport Agency, contributing to stability, quality, and continuity in development activities.

Sigma Technology Group expands its global footprint with a presence in India to meet growing demand from European engineering and R&D organizations for scalable, cost-efficient, and resilient development capacity. With operations in Chennai and Trichy and plans to expand into additional Tier-2 technology hubs, Sigma strengthens its global multi-site delivery model.

As European industries accelerate electrification, digitalization, and automation, access to scalable engineering capacity becomes a strategic competitiveness factor, not merely a sourcing decision. India is rapidly evolving into a key hub for global engineering and digital infrastructure. Large-scale investments from international technology companies in AI, cloud platforms, and data centers — combined with domestic initiatives such as Reliance Industries’ announced $110 billion investment in AI infrastructure — are accelerating the development of advanced technical capabilities and engineering talent ecosystems. This expansion strengthens India’s role as a long-term base for distributed R&D and multi-site product development.

Sigma Technology has delivered distributed R&D projects for more than 20 years, supporting customers across Sweden, Europe, North America, and Asia. The expanded India operations enable companies to scale product development teams without lengthy local recruitment cycles and to manage cost while maintaining engineering quality.

The Indian organization operates under the same governance model and engineering processes as Sigma’s European units, enabling seamless collaboration across locations and offering services in embedded software development, electronics engineering, and FPGA/ASIC development, industrial automation, technical documentation, IT development, power engineering, and life-cycle support.

“European companies need delivery models that are both flexible and predictable,”says Niklas Börjesson, COO and Senior Vice President at Sigma Technology Group. “Strengthening our India operations allows us to offer structured scaling of R&D capacity while maintaining the engineering governance and quality standards our customers expect.”

Krishna Radhakrishnan will lead Sigma’s expansion in India. Having a solid background in electric power systems, engineering, and renewable energy technologies, Krishna is a seasoned leader heading multiple multi-site projects to support software and industrial automation for international clients.

“Our priority is to create delivery environments where competence grows over time and attrition is low, enabling customers to scale smoothly and sustainably. We want our state-of-the-art capability centers to deliver our customers globally with an underlying culture influenced by innovation, transparency, and with a blend of European and Indian values that can positively add to our customers’ success,” says Krishna Radhakrishnan.

Local Drive – Global Strength

Sigma Technology’s multi-site model integrates nearshore and offshore centers in Ukraine, Hungary, Kosovo, and India. Each delivery center operates locally but is integrated into the company’s global operations, enabling teams to work seamlessly across time zones and competence areas. This allows customers to scale engineering capacity faster, ensure continuity and resilience, and access specialized competence on demand.

Sigma Technology Elevate has appointed Kristoffer Danielsen as Head of Data & AI, strengthening the company’s ability to deliver advanced data platforms and AI solutions to clients across the Nordics. The appointment reflects growing market demand for AI that moves beyond proofs-of-concept to generating measurable business value.

As the EU AI Act is phased in across Europe from 2024, it is expected to enter Norwegian law through the EEA process in the coming years. At the same time, GDPR is already in effect, and NIS2 is moving toward national implementation. For many Norwegian organizations, this creates a complex landscape of overlapping regulations, while many are simultaneously under pressure to move from AI pilots to delivering measurable business impact.

Sigma Technology Elevate responds by appointing Kristoffer Danielsen as Head of Data & AI. Kristoffer and the team will help clients build data platforms that support both compliance and operational AI, not just as pilot projects, but as real business value. As part of this strategy, Sigma Technology Elevate is assembling a team of senior data engineers, leveraging a wide range of modern AI tools, and developing scalable data platforms designed to help customers safely adopt and integrate AI technologies into operations.

“Most organizations are not short of models. What they lack is a data platform and governance structure that can support them at scale. I’m excited to work with our clients to close that gap — turning their data into a genuine competitive asset,” says Kristoffer Danielsen, Head of Data & AI at Sigma Technology Elevate.

Kristoffer Danielsen brings more than a decade of experience in finance, BI, and data architecture, including senior roles at Nordr and consulting across public and private sectors. He has built large-scale Nordic data platforms and has deep expertise in financial processes, governance frameworks, and the operationalization of AI in complex organizations.

His focus will be on practical AI adoption in real estate, retail, the public sector, and industry, where automation, predictive insights, and operational efficiency offer immediate opportunities.

“Kristoffer understands how data capability is built, governed, and used in real organizations, both from the consulting side and as a decision-maker on the client side. That combination is exactly what we needed. As demand for robust data foundations and responsible AI grows, Sigma Technology Elevate is well-positioned to lead, adds Egil Fernando, President at Sigma Technology Elevate.
