Sigma Technology and Aetheria Partners join forces to make sovereign AI deployable for regulated European organizations

Sigma Technology and Aetheria Partners have partnered to help Nordic and European organizations deploy AI in regulated, business-critical environments while retaining control over where data is processed, how systems are operated, and how AI actions are governed.

While AI adoption remains a priority for many businesses, public-cloud AI is not suitable for every workload. Organizations with strict requirements for latency, resilience, data sensitivity, system integration, or regulation require AI to run closer to where data is generated, and operations take place.

The partnership pairs Aetheria Partners’ sovereign AI stack — compute that remains under European control, together with the orchestration and compliance layer that makes it usable inside regulated environments — with Sigma Technology’s engineering expertise, system integration capabilities, and its established position inside customer operations in energy, finance, healthcare, public sector, and critical infrastructure.

The partnership for sovereign AI

The joint offering supports on-prem and local edge deployment, giving customers greater control over where data is processed and how AI systems are operated. Together, the companies will support organizations that need to accelerate AI adoption while maintaining control over sensitive operational data:

  • Sovereign AI infrastructure designed for regulated environments
  • Deployment in European, on-premises, and air-gapped environments
  • Integration with existing IT and operational technology environments
  • Industry-specific AI agents tailored to sector requirements
  • Ongoing operations, support, and development
  • Compliance-focused AI deployment and governance models

“The demand for sovereign AI is growing rapidly across Europe. Organizations need solutions that align with regulatory requirements while remaining practical to deploy and operate. Together with Aetheria Partners, we can combine technology, engineering expertise, and local presence to help customers move from experimentation to production,” says Johan Thornadtsson, Vice President at Sigma Technology IT Group.

“We built the compute and the control layer so AI runs inside the customer’s own perimeter, on their data, under their rules. Sigma Technology builds the agents that run on top of it, in operations they already know,” says Mats Plahn, CEO, Aetheria Partners.
