Hässleholm Municipality pioneers with digital payment solutions for residents

Hässleholm – In a time where cash has become increasingly rare, many Swedes, especially the elderly and individuals with disabilities, face a digital divide. Now, Hässleholm municipality is taking an initiative that could change this.

A report from Sveriges Post and Telestyrelsen (Sweden’s Post and Telecom Authority) shows that approximately 10% of the population cannot access digital payment methods, which poses significant challenges.

But now the wind is turning. Hässleholm municipality introduces an innovative digital solution – Delori Payments, an app developed by Delori AB with support from Post- and Telestyrelsen, Västra Götalands Region, and Almi. Furthermore, Sigma Technology Insight Solutions AB has provided support with expertise regarding the data flow. This is to enable data analysis and increase insight into the area. This app allows staff to make purchases in the residents’ names in a secure, transparent manner while automating administration and complying with legal requirements.

Jenny Hörberg, Unit Manager at the care administration in Hässleholm municipality, further describes the issue:

We have encountered challenges when it comes to managing residents’ money. Solutions have been cash management or personal expenses through private accounts, which have caused problems. This solution simplifies and increases security for everyone involved.

 

Fredrik Hofflander, one of the founders behind Delori, expresses his enthusiasm for the project:

Our app focuses on delegating rights. It is immensely satisfying to be able to contribute to reducing exclusion in this area.

With this initiative from Hässleholm municipality, a new standard is set for how municipalities can work to include all residents in the digital economy.
