Tell us about your role.
I am an information engineer. My job is to create technical descriptions and operating instructions for users who access these documents in a manual or in an online database. I gather the information that is required for the documentation from the engineers, and then sort it out and systemize it, focusing a great deal on customer rules.
What do you value most in your work? What excites you most?
My tasks are quite complex and challenging, and I learn a lot. My project is so huge; there are still undiscovered areas so I never have time to get bored. I have to be creative: write and edit the documents in a way both the engineers and end users are happy with them. I like the fact that I am the bridge between the engineers and end users, and have to understand the documentation from both perspectives.
Why did you choose to become an engineer?
On the one hand, I didn’t want to have a stereotyped female job. On the other hand, nowadays engineering is one of the most wanted jobs on the job market and its popularity continues. Nevertheless, for women, engineering still remains a mysterious field and many believe this job is for men, but I can assure you that women can also stand their ground in this field.
What would you advise young girls who are just deciding on their career?
Do not be afraid to follow your dreams, no matter how big they seem to you at first, because if you are persistent, you can achieve them. Be confident and cheerful, give the world the best you have, and then let everything fall into place.
