Introduction

Modern hearing protection devices must combine ergonomic design with intelligent embedded systems to meet rising user expectations for comfort, connectivity, and safety. Sigma was engaged to lead the complete development lifecycle of such a device, covering hardware, software, and validation for a new generation of protective audio wearables.

About the Client

The client is a manufacturer of advanced personal protective equipment, with a focus on hearing protection products for industrial and professional users. With the goal of modernizing their portfolio, they required a trusted partner to deliver a fully embedded system—from concept to production validation.

Solution

Sigma’s In-House team managed the entire embedded product development stream, including:

  • Complete Hardware Design

    • Component strategy, schematic and layout design

    • PCBA procurement and prototype assembly

    • Unit-level and integration testing

  • Complete Software Design

    • Architecture and development of base software (BSW), middleware, and application layer

    • Integration of Bluetooth (BT) profiles, NFC, and acoustic configurations

    • Full-cycle unit and system testing

    • HW/SW integration testing and coordination of final production validation
