Why did you decide to work in the tech industry?

I have always had a fascination for computers and tech. I used to fix all my mother’s technology issues at an early age. When stepping into working life, that became a natural area to help colleagues and managers.
During the 90s, my department switched from typewriters to computers, so I became the natural go-to person. During this time, I decided to go back to school and get the proper education within tech/web to start this new era in life.
Quite early in my studies, it started to be clear to me that I wasn’t the best developer or designer on the web but had a good eye for it – My strengths lie more in supporting and managing people and combining that with tech. It became a dream!

How can you describe your current role? What’s your responsibility area?

Today I work as a Unit Manager for Sigma Technology Transformation. I have a broad background within tech/web, all from Project management, Program Management, Client Partner, Team leader, and competence lead to Office Manager. I see myself as the glue for our company foundation. I operationally support my company’s president in everything high and low. I lead the people domain, ensuring processes and support are in place, and I handle requirements to find great people.
A large part of my time goes to where my heart is, which is to secure our people’s well-being.

What career plans do you have for the future, and how do you see your further professional development?

I recently started my mission at Sigma Technology Transformation 2021, so I plan to build a solid and healthy company with my president. We want to make sure we have a great blueprint to clone in the future. Further development for me would be to step into the company’s vice president role. I feel very excited about the future.

What can you advise for women just entering the tech?

Believe in your strength. There will be bumps in the road, don’t lose faith, and learn from them. Always have that mindset! They are there for a reason – to make the best of you!
