Amanda Eriksson - women in technology

Why did you decide to work in the tech industry?

My decision to work in the tech industry is based on a passion for innovation and a drive to aim for efficiency constantly. The tech sector is at the forefront of reshaping how we live, work, and communicate, offering endless opportunities to drive success through the advancement of technology. I saw an opportunity to utilize my analytical skills and creative thinking to contribute to this constantly changing industry. Working in tech means not only that I get to be part of creating the future but also that I have the opportunity to influence the business landscape directly by developing solutions that meet real needs and generate business benefits. The rapid innovation cycle and dynamic environment motivate me to continuously develop and stay at the forefront of technology.

How can you describe your current role? What’s your responsibility area?

As a UX/UI consultant, I am responsible for creating innovative and user-centered design solutions that meet the needs of our clients and their users. I handle everything from user research and requirements gathering to the development of prototypes and the final graphic design. My responsibility extends to ensuring that our solutions are strategically aligned with the client’s business goals, which requires a balance between innovative design and business strategic insight. What I value most about being a consultant is the opportunity to get into different industries and companies. This gives me the chance to quickly learn new methods and strategies, which challenges me to adapt and grow professionally. Every assignment is a new lesson, which makes my career path both dynamic and enriching.

What career plans do you have for the future, and how do you see your further professional development?

My ambition for the future is to continue growing in UX/UI design, with a particular focus on strengthening the connection between design and business strategy. I aim to get to a position where I can influence decision-making at higher levels within organizations, to further drive the business value that well-designed user experiences can deliver. By continuously challenging myself and developing my ability to create value through design, I hope to take my career to new heights and contribute to the progress of the industry.

In addition to my career as a consultant, I also run my own company, Digital Q, on the side of my consulting work. Not only is this company a platform for me to apply my skills and passions in new ways, but it also represents a deeper dream of one day being able to build and scale something of my own that I can fully live on. Leading Digital Q gives me valuable experience in entrepreneurship and business development, skills that I see as crucial to my professional development. Digital Q gives me unique insights into the challenges and opportunities that come with running a business, experiences that I value highly in my quest to one day make my dream a reality.
