Sigma Technology Group has partnered with Munich-based tech pioneer sqanit to launch a streamlined solution for Digital Product Passports (DPPs) aimed at manufacturers across Sweden and the EU. This collaboration will help companies meet new regulatory demands under the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan, promoting transparency, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.

The European Union’s Circular Economy Action Plan and the upcoming European Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) will soon demand the implementation of digital product passports (DPPs) to enable a sustainable and traceable lifecycle for physical products. These regulations will impact manufacturers across industries selling their products in the EU, highlighting the need for trusted technology solutions. With this strategic partnership, Sigma Technology and sqanit aim to empower companies to address these changes, turning regulatory requirements into a unique opportunity to enhance the customer experience and drive sustainable practices.

As manufacturers face increased regulatory requirements to provide traceable product information, the combined solution from Sigma and sqanit will deliver adaptable, user-friendly Digital Product Passports that meet EU’s requirements,” says Niklas Malmros, CEO at Sigma Technology Solutions Group.

The Digital Product Passport, powered by sqanit’s Product Lifecycle Experience (PLX) SaaS Platform, will provide manufacturers with a comprehensive, unified tool that seamlessly integrates essential product information, lifecycle insights, and digital service paths.

Sigma Technology’s role as a strategic integrator will involve tailoring sqanit’s PLX solution to each client’s unique requirements.

Markus Gatzke, CEO at sqanit, comments: “This collaboration goes beyond traditional integrations – our goal is to redefine the Digital Product Passport experience by combining sqanit’s agility and Sigma’s deep industry expertise. Together, we’re creating a scalable model that adapts to complex business needs and elevates the product experience for end users globally.”

The combined efforts of Sigma Technology and sqanit will provide manufacturers across sectors with a transformative approach to product lifecycle management, encouraging sustainable practices while meeting the increasing demands for transparency and responsible business operations.
