Annaam Butt, Project Manager & Scrum Master at Sigma Technology Insight Solutions, is one of the finalists in the category Team Leader of the Year – Enterprise at the Women in Tech Excellence Awards. The winners will be revealed during the Women in Tech Excellence Gala in London on November 24.
The Women in Tech Excellence Awards is designed to help make the tech industry more diverse by recognizing and promoting the many talented women and other success stories. This is the fifth year of the award, and Women in Tech Excellence has already celebrated the achievements of over 1,200 women in front of over 2,000 people.
Annaam’s passion for mathematics and problem solving led her first to pursue education in Electrical Engineering and Project Management, and later – a career in STEM. Keen to give back to the community, Annaam has also engaged in several social initiatives, becoming a Project Leader at OpenHack, where she arranged multiple Coding for Humanity events, and Co-project manager for Hack the Crisis, one of Sweden’s largest hackathons gathering over 7,000 participants united by the goal to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Annaam also served as a Board Member and Chief Events Officer for Women in Tech Gothenburg.
To those who are considering working in the technology sector, Annaam shares:
“My advice for young women pursuing tech is to look for what you love and work hard to pursue it. Do not let the glass ceiling hold you back. The tech world is incomplete without diverse perspectives and that’s where we will bridge the gap.”
From all of us at Sigma Technology Group, we wish the best of luck to Annaam at the Women in Tech Excellence Gala tomorrow and are so proud of her achievement. Follow Annaam in London on our Instagram @sigma_technology on November 24!
