Amelie Olsen wins the “IT Woman of the Year” award in the Linnaeus Region

Amelie Olsen, Unit Manager at Sigma Technology Informatics Solutions, has been named IT Woman of the Year in the Linnaeus Region. The award was presented at a ceremony at PM & Vänner in Växjö on November 26. Among the finalists were also Sigma colleagues Hanna Ingesson and Oleksandra Kryshtapiuk.
The IT Woman of the Year award highlights female role models whose drive, commitment, and contributions inspire more people to pursue a career in the IT industry in the Linnaeus Region. The event is organized by Witech and Linnaeus University, together with main sponsors Fortnox, Volvo Construction Equipment, Södra, and Sigma Technology.
Happy and secure people build successful companies
Amelie has worked in leadership roles for more than 10 years and has been active in the IT industry since 2021. With her inclusive leadership style and passion for diversity, she has built strong teams and a culture rooted in trust and psychological safety. Her philosophy is simple yet powerful: happy and secure people build successful companies.
She is actively involved in networks such as Witech and works to encourage more people, especially young talents, to discover opportunities in tech, including through coding initiatives for children.
“Differences are fantastic. I want to create spaces where equality and inclusion are a given, and where a multifaceted industry is the norm,” says Amelie Olsen.
The IT industry in the Linnaeus Region continues to grow, and the need for more women in tech remains high. Initiatives such as Femmegineering by Sigma and collaborations with Witech are central to Sigma Technology’s efforts to promote gender equality and strengthen the regional talent pipeline.
“Amelie is a leader who not only drives business growth but also pushes the industry forward. Her work to build inclusive teams truly makes a difference, both for us as a company and for the region’s tech ecosystem,” says Daniel Björkman, President at Sigma Technology Informatics Solutions.
